Abstract Background In spite of efforts to control avian influenza (AI) and Newcastle disease (ND) over decades, circulation the viral causative agents among domestic feral birds is considered implicated factors for intermittent outbreaks AI ND domesticated as well commercial poultry flocks in Nigeria. this study, sera from (Japanese quails) peri-domestic including laughing dove village weavers were screened antibodies low pathogenic virus (LPAIV) (NDV). Methods A competitive ELISA was used detect anti-AI 101 unvaccinated Japanese quails, 30 one caught human consumption Oyo Osun states, Hemagglutination-inhibiting (HI) against LPAIV then detected ELISA-positive using H3N8, H5N2 H9N7 subtype-specific antigens. Also, NDV quantified HI test. Results Seroprevalence tested quail 12.9% (13/101), while 18.8% (19/101) with detection anti-LPAIV antibodies. The serum positive all had no detectable antibodies, but 26.7% (8/30) Conclusions This study provides serologic evidence infection southwest Nigeria highlights potential role these epidemiology ND.

Serological Investigation of H9N2 Avian Influenza Virus in Slaughtered Water Buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) in Khuzestan, Iran
The aim of the present was to evaluate the prevalence of H9N2-specific antibodies among water buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis). To this end, blood samples were obtained from 80 randomly selected water buffaloes, 40 cases of which were obtained in the winter months, and 40 cases were sampled in the spring months.
